Overview
Missouri Baptist Medical Center & BJC Health System are looking for a General Anesthesiologist to join their growing, hospital-based practice! Located in the heart of West County, Saint Louis, anesthesiologists at Missouri Baptist cover 23 operating rooms which support the following service lines: general surgery, orthopedic surgery (total joints, spine), neurosurgery (spine, rare craniotomies), vascular surgery, ENT (bread and butter pediatrics once a week) and gynecological surgery. Sites outside the ORs include the cardiac cath lab, a robust GI lab, women’s outpatient center, interventional pulmonology, interventional radiology and MRI imaging. There is no L&D or CTOR coverage required and MBMC is not a trauma center.

- Joining 10 other anesthesiologists within hospital group
- Adult patient population primarily, rare peds ENT
- Shared call with group; averaging 1 weekend a month & 1 weekday a week
- Workflow is 95% oversight of CRNAs; 5% self-performing cases

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. Qualifications
Role Purpose
Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
- Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
- Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
