Job Summary
BJC HealthCare seeks a Per Diem Nurse Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an accredited RN program and have completed one semester of fundamental medical/surgical clinicals.
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses with patient and family education, documenting all patient care activities with correct medical terminology.
- Act as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary, ensuring availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
- Implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team, collecting clinical data and information on patients and reporting abnormal findings to the nurse.
- Instruct patients in preparations for tests and procedures, promoting a safe and efficient care environment.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited RN program
- Completed one semester of fundamental medical/surgical clinicals
