BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Youth Pediatric Social Worker (MSW) for St. Louis Children's Hospital - Life Outside of Violence Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program

Position Details:

  • Day Shift Hours: M-F (8am-4:30pm) 
  • Provide Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Interventions to youth ages 7-19
  • Interpersonal Violence
  • Maintains caseload of 12-15 patients
  • Connect patients to victim of violence resources
  • Collaborate with needed community agencies involved with the child/family for ongoing support
  • Role works closely with the BJC Community Health Improvement Department (CHI)
  • Jointly supervised by WU Institute for Public Health LOV leadership (for case management supervision)
  • SLCH leadership for SLCH related needs
  • Compliance Role - covers other LOV sites as needed (BJH, Cardinal Glennon, SLU Hospital)

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides clinical social work services to address the psychosocial needs of patients and families. Provides individual and group counseling, linkage to community resources, expertise in cultural diversity and advocacy. Collaborates with the health care team and ensures timely, cost-effective discharge and transition planning.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conducts screening and assessment activities to meet the needs of the discharged patient.
  • Applies assessment findings to prepare a patient-centered plan of care.
  • Applies and complies with all regulations and utilizes resources available to patients to manage their continuum of care.
