What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Educator Cardiac Services position at BJC HealthCare?
- Full time, Day shift position but will need to be available to come in during evenings/nights/weekends to perform in services, ensuring competencies, developing preceptors/mentors, etc.
- Masters preferred. Open to starting a program within one year.
- Self-motivated to see a problem and proactively address it (needs to have initiative)
- Quick to pick up technology (Microsoft suite products, bookings, AV, etc.)
- Previous Tele, ICU, and/or Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
- Previous experience in teaching or precepting
- Previous Professional Governance/Shared Governance experience.
- Strong time management skills.
Scope
- Service line responsibilities- BJSP Adult Telemetry, BJSP/PWH Cardiac Services (Vascular Intervention Lab, Cardiac Testing, Respiratory)
- Weekly new hire check-in conversations, Professional Practice Rounding, Competency Management/Oversight, EBP, participation in Shared Governance
- Splitting time between the two facilities (BJSP and PWH).

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women’s Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.
