About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Surgical/Burn/Trauma ICU Charge Nurse to join our team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. As a member of our interprofessional team, you will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities of a unit on a designated shift.
You will perform direct patient care as needed and function as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Your expertise will be utilized to assess, plan, evaluate and document the nursing process of assigned patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver.
- Critically assess patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults to interprofessional team as appropriate.
- Facilitate identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Critical Care environment.
