What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Safety and Risk Management Specialist position at BJC?
- Shift Information: Monday - Friday 8 am- 5 pm. No Holidays, weekends, overtime, or on call. (On call required for emergency situations such as regulatory surveys or incident command)
- Facility Location: Hybrid - work from home and the Mason Ridge Office in Chesterfield however you will also support other branch locations
- Patient interaction: No direct patient contact but will support patient interaction such as joint visits, site locations and chart audits.
- This is a new position. On a team with hospital Regulatory and Compliance Specialists and Patient Safety Specialists
- Job Responsibilities/Day to day activities for this position: Monitor safety events and complaints, monitor compliance activities, performance improvement events, licensure and regulatory activities, emergency management and environment of care activities
- Required skills: MUST have experience in patient safety or risk management domains. Home Care RN/Patient Safety experience is preferred but not required. Required to have some sort of Home Health, Hospice, Home Infusion Therapy experience

Role Purpose
This position facilitates patient safety and clinical risk management within assigned HSO or facility and provides support and acts as a backup for a region or geographic area. Partners with system leaders to ensure execution of standardized patient safety and risk management workflows with use of standardized tools and processes, including active participation in interfacility patient safety and risk management activities.
