Position Summary:
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for calculating the cost of electrical construction by reviewing and evaluating available documents and developing accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for a variety of projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project to create a bid proposal.
- Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available documents.
- Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers.
- Review quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received.
- Identify any inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other problems in the bid documents.
- Anticipate potential problems and devise solutions proactively.
- Analyze project for value engineering options while considering specific job conditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed.
- Prepare bid documents including specific scope letter for each project.
- Assist in preparing budget pricing.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with vendors.

Immediate Supervisor: This position reports to the Electrical Division Manager.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or 5 years of estimating experience.
- Understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.
- Familiarity with estimating projects of all sizes and project management principles.
- Excellent math and IT skills with an analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office and multiple estimating programs.
