Position Summary :
Join our dynamic team as a Construction Project Engineer! You will play a pivotal role in coordinating construction activities across various project sites. Reporting to the General Superintendent, your expertise will ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while effectively managing shop drawings, RFIs, and on-site changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Compile and submit all As-Built drawings, guarantees, warranties, and operating instructions; ensure that plans are accessible and up to date for subcontractors and vendors.
- Interpret designs and drawings accurately for installation teams.
- Identify and resolve drawing interpretation issues, conflicts, and errors efficiently.
- Prepare field change requests and as-built documents as required; maintain comprehensive documentation including status updates, punch lists, and material calculations.
- Ensure all completed work meets applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Engage in value engineering and assess the viability of designs.
- Participate actively in meetings with clients and contractors to harmonize design and construction efforts.
- Provide precise building control lines and elevations for accurate material installation.
- Conduct on-site observation of construction activities; participate in job walks to document and report findings.
- Generate and manage RFIs efficiently.
- Implement the company's quality control plan with diligence, documenting any quality issues with weekly photos.
- Research and recommend solutions to quality control challenges.
- Oversee the enforcement of Quality Assurance / Quality Control Policies and Procedures.
- Understand and contribute to the safety program by participating in safety inspections.
- Create detailed specification checklists.
- Review submittals ensuring they conform to specifications and subcontractor scopes of work.
- Evaluate mock-ups and shop drawings against specifications.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of project scheduling and construction logistics.
- Recognize potential change orders and assist in the PCO process.
- Perform quantity takeoffs as required.
