What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Ambassador (Student) position at BJU, Inc.?
SUMMARY: BJU Student Ambassadors represent BJU to campus guests by providing hospitality, help and service through interaction with guests in the Welcome Center and by leading campus tours. Student Ambassadors introduce guests to BJU’s dynamic community through public and interpersonal communication and personalized storytelling. Student Ambassadors assist in university events and act as an information hub for university constituency.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding guest service
- Lead campus tours for prospective students and guests
- Provide helpful answers to guests and university family that need assistance in the Welcome Center
- Serve in a variety of roles with university events including hosting, interacting, and other service related roles
- Provide transportation for university guests
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Minimum of 3 semesters remaining at BJU
- Successful completion of at least one semester of full-time enrollment at BJU
- Ability to engage and communicate well with people
- Strong guest service skills
- Passion for BJU’s mission, vision and values
- Good knowledge of BJU campus, student life, programs, and philosophy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
- Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and organize responsibilities
- Average computer knowledge and skills
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license
- Candidate must be willing and able to operate a university vehicle with professionalism, maturity and responsibility (Operating a university vehicle is required for this role.)
- Must (occasionally) lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
