What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Manager for Government Projects position at BKM Construction LLC?
BKM is a privately held General Contractor proficient in government contracting. Based in Leavenworth, Kansas we are seeking eperienced Project Manager.
Project Manager will manage construction projects for various clients in the Federal market. Primary clients are the General Services Administration and Veterans Administration.
BKM Construction specialized in Federal Government contracts. Contracts include IDIQ, JOC, SABER and MATOC formatted term contracts as well as stand-alone firm fixed price contracts.
Ideal Candidates will possess.
- Experience in Government contracting to include experience with the Veteran's Administration and General Services Administration.
- Experience in Pre-Construction and Construction activities to include conducting site visits, developing scopes of work, estimating construction costs, negotiating pricing and managing the overall construction of the project through closeout.
- Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build experience.
- Strong Communication skills to include technical writing skills.
- Strong On-site safety experience with the ability to create Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and site safety plans.
- Ability to implement Infectious Control Risk Assessment plans.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and construction drawings to comply with project requirements and project deliverables of RFI's, Submittals, construction reporting and documentation.
- Proficient computer skills to include emphasis on Microsoft Office products Word, Excel and Project.
- Detail and documentational focused skillsets.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain clearance for government level badging requirements.
The expectation is that extensive and proficient use of email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project will be expected. Use of web-based project management software packages (Veteran's Administration uses Submittal Exchange and General Services Administration uses Kahua) will be required.
Candidate will be expected to take and pass an OSHA 30 and the Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors course to obtain qualifications for these contracts. BKM will incur the costs of these classes.
Candidate will be required to pass a federal background check to obtain badging for access to federal facilities.
