About the Role



The Director of Total Rewards leads the strategy, design, implementation, and administration of compensation, benefits, and rewards programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's rewards offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business goals. The Director collaborates with senior leadership and their HR partners to provide insights and solutions that drive employee engagement and align with the company's overall strategic objectives. This role also ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements for compensation and benefits in a publicly traded company.




Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and talent needs.
  • Develop, implement, and manage market-competitive, cost-effective compensation programs, including base pay, incentive plans, and executive compensation. Ensure alignment with BKV Compensation Committee of the Board.
  • Prepare and present reports for the board of directors, compensation committee, and senior leadership on total rewards initiatives and metrics.
  • Oversee the design and administration of salary structures, merit increases, and equity-based compensation programs.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other benefits.
  • Evaluate and recommend new benefits offerings to enhance the employee experience and ensure market competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to benefits, such as ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA.
  • Develop non-monetary rewards programs, such as recognition events, service awards, and other initiatives that drive employee engagement.
  • Monitor and ensure the company's total rewards programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party vendors providing benefits, compensation analysis, and other rewards-related services.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, finance, and other leaders to ensure alignment of rewards strategies with business needs and objectives.
  • Drive effective communication strategies to deepen employee's understanding of BKV rewards programs.
  • Develop training materials and tools to support HR partners and leaders in discussing rewards with their teams.
  • Conduct regular analyses of total rewards data to ensure alignment with market practices and identify trends or gaps.
  • Implement HR analytics and reporting to assess Organization “health” and operational HR performance trends to improve HR services and the organization.
  • Perform other duties as required.



Qualifications



Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in business, human resources or related field a plus. Ten or more years relevant experience in either corporate or consulting total rewards roles.




Required Skills



  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of compensation design, job evaluation methodologies, salary structures, and market benchmarking.
  • Strong understanding of benefits programs, including health, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
  • Understanding of and experience dealing with external vendors offering compensation, benefits services.
  • Expertise in designing and administering executive compensation plans, including equity-based compensation (e.g., stock options, RSUs, PSUs).
  • Knowledge of proxy statement disclosures, say-on-pay requirements, and SEC reporting for public companies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements such as FLSA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, IRS guidelines, and SEC reporting rules.
  • Familiarity with global compliance frameworks, if applicable to the organization.
  • Knowledge of industry (preferably energy) trends/emerging issues, and best practices in total rewards, including pay equity strategies.
  • Familiarity with HR technology platforms and tools used for compensation and benefits administration.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Experience with Oracle a plus.
  • Advanced use of data/information to inform decision-making. Proficient in related analytic tools, especially Microsoft Office and job-related HR applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
