Entry-Level Bridge Engineer
Our growth offers an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer in our Public Infrastructure group. This position will give you hands-on experience and exposure to bridge design, analysis, and inspections, with opportunities for career growth.
The selected candidate will have a degree in civil engineering. Experience with field work and bridge design preferred.
The Staff Engineer is expected to complete and price the scope of work for each project and coordinate fieldwork and whatever subcontractors are required for a given project.
This role can be based in our Warwick or Norwood offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in bridge, sign, and traffic signal field inspections
- Perform structural analysis and design for bridges and other transportation structures.
- Prepare design reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Use CAD software to develop engineering drawings and plans.
- Conduct field work, including site visits and occasional night work as required.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on various projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- EIT certification preferred.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Interest in being trained and working in diverse field environments including:
- Work at heights using bucket trucks.
- Work in water using waders or on barges.
- Previous internships or other experience with Departments of Transportation, public works agencies, or transportation design consultants are a plus.
