Job Description:
The Finishing Operations Supervisor oversees all material finishing and the assigned employees in a cabinet manufacturing plant. The role requires a candidate who can motivate, train and lead a team to meet production and quality goals while maintaining the highest level of safety possible. Areas of responsibility include running a Superfici flat line finishing system, frame cell production and material picking. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvements in production methods and operating procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively motivates, trains and leads a team to perform in a consistent manner by setting performance standards and ensuring the team meets those standards
- Supervises employees in the application of solvent-based coatings on wood cabinetry using a Superfici flat line.
- Oversees the picking of material parts and production of face frames that will be finished on the flat line
- Responsible for overseeing proper maintenance of all production equipment.
- Effectively assign tasks and job duties to meet the production schedule.
- Monitor, control and report on the quality and quantity of work.
- Is able to problem solve and identify courses of action to resolve any issues that arise.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and employee morale to achieve positive results in all areas with the goal of continuous improvement.
- Tracks absenteeism and time keeping as well as performing accident investigations.
- Adheres to all OSHA and EPA standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of successful supervisory experience in a finishing production environment.
- Proficient knowledge of coating application machinery and tools such as spray guns, pumps, and automated spray booths.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications with a strong emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve positive results.
- Ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to obtain results.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen
