What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tube Bender 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift position at Black Bear Talent?
The Tube Bender is responsible for operating tube bending machinery and equipment to fabricate high-quality copper and other materials for water processing systems. The position requires precision in bending and shaping copper tubes and other materials to meet specifications for use in water processing, plumbing, and industrial applications. The role involves working with both manual and automated equipment to ensure smooth production and adherence to quality and safety standards. Starting pay $23.53 - 1st shift, $24.53 - 2nd shift, $25.03 - 3rd shift
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to calculate bend using CLA formula, E/E formula & determining tangents
- Review engineering documents and determine angles & bend radius and tooling required set bends
- Understanding the limitations of tool types Eaton Leonard VB42, Eaton Leonard CBCE 25 semi-auto and Diacro bender (manual)
- Determine slippage when performing manual bends
- Must be driven towards quality objectives and quality needs
- Ability to review prints and determine where bends vs. micro-fittings would be appropriate for cost savings
- Ability to operate band saw, cold saw and facing tools
- Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, and quality control.
- Inspecting and evaluating the quality of products.
- Talking to others to effectively convey information
- The ability to bend stretches, twist, or reach out with the body of Tube
- Must be able to work in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to solve problems quickly and independently.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and interpret specific job requirements.
- Able to use various mechanical tools and equipment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform manual labor.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Dexterity in handling small tools and machine components.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and potentially noisy manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and noise in the production area.
- Compliance with all company safety and environmental protocols is required.
