Job Summary :
The Museum A / V Tech is responsible for the management and technical support of complex media technology systems. This role ensures seamless operation, maintenance, and enhancement of audiovisual systems to support exhibitions and special events, while also staying updated on emerging technologies and contributing to budget development and staff training.
Key Responsibilities :
- Media Technology Management :
Oversee the ongoing operation and maintenance of media technology systems in exhibit galleries.
Replace consumable supplies (e.g., projector lamps, color wheels) and clean components (e.g., projector lenses, filters).
Provide AV technical support for special events and programs, including microphones, sound systems, video monitors / media walls, and control systems.
Install and terminate audio, video, and control cables as needed.
Stay informed on evolving audiovisual and IT technologies.
Contribute to the development of annual operating budgets and staff requirements for MML services.
Regularly meet with NMAD staff to enhance and maintain media and lighting systems for exhibitions and public programs.
Develop, write, and oversee technical specifications for service contracts, including state-of-the-art technologies related to multimedia and interactive systems.
Provide expert advice on design, cost, and maintenance of media and lighting elements to project managers, curators, conservators, and other staff.
Qualifications :
