This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service, as you will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and maintaining an inviting atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage the seating chart and coordinate with servers to optimize table turnover.
- Handle reservations and walk-in guests efficiently while maintaining guest flow.
- Provide information about the menu and restaurant specials to guests.
- Assist in managing wait times effectively, keeping guests informed and comfortable.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host area.
- Address guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with food service operations; experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using POS systems; Aloha POS experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good phone etiquette for handling reservations or guest inquiries over the phone.
- Team player mentality with a willingness to help colleagues as needed.
