Summary
We are seeking a Kitchen Team Member to join our dynamic team at Black Button Distilling. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations in order to pass health inspection.
- Ability to create new SOP's when necessary and help build on current procedures.
- Utilize kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and cooking appliances.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food output.
- Participate in inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste and place orders.
- Opportunities in the future include helping create a new menu, sharing ideas about food items, and collaborating to create a menu that is reciprocated by guests.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment required.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Basic culinary skills with a passion for cooking and food preparation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to properly take inventory and order correctly each week to ensure the kitchen is stocked with what it needs.
- Properly use older ingredients in new specials and keep inventory low.
- ServSafe certification required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22 – 28 per week
