Position Summary:
The Specialist/Coordinator for Community Vibrancy at Black Cultural Zone (BCZ) plays a crucial role in enhancing the health, wellness, culture, and arts within the community. This position involves developing and implementing programs, coordinating events, and fostering partnerships that promote vibrant community life. The Specialist/Coordinator will work closely with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders to ensure initiatives align with BCZ’s mission of nurturing and empowering Black communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Implementation:
- Develop and implement programs that promote health, wellness, culture, and arts within the community.
- Coordinate with local artists, health professionals, and cultural leaders to design and deliver impactful initiatives.
- Ensure programs are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the needs and interests of the community.
Event Coordination:
- Plan, organize, and execute community events, workshops, and activities that enhance community vibrancy.
- Manage event logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, vendor coordination, and promotion.
- Work with the communications team to develop marketing materials and outreach strategies to maximize participation.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate community meetings and focus groups to gather input and feedback on programs and initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between the community and BCZ, ensuring clear and open communication.
Partnership Development:
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with local organizations, artists, health practitioners, and cultural institutions.
- Collaborate with partners to develop joint programs and initiatives that benefit the community.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and manage ongoing partner relationships.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to measure the impact and effectiveness of programs and events.
- Collect and analyze data to assess community needs and program outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations on program performance and community impact.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all programs, events, and partnerships.
- Assist with budget planning and financial management for community vibrancy initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Development, Arts Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community engagement, program coordination, or event management.
- Strong understanding of health, wellness, cultural, and arts programming.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management and community engagement tools.
- Passion for BCZ’s mission and commitment to advancing racial equity and community empowerment.
Salary : $59,000 - $75,000
