Job Summary:
The Advanced Cook at Black Desert Resort is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest culinary and sanitation standards. Reporting to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef, this position plays a key role in food preparation, assisting with menu execution, and supporting kitchen operations. The Advanced Cook works in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong culinary skills, precision, and efficiency.

Onsite: Black Desert ResortShift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-TimePay Rate: $21 - $22/hr. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and efficiency, following recipes and plating standards.
- Assist with station setup, mise en place, and ingredient preparation before and during service.
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation according to resort standards.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients, monitoring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Support Sous Chefs and fellow cooks by executing menu items and special event dishes.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff to uphold culinary standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring efficiency during service.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a fine dining, resort, or high-volume kitchen.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred but not required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on resort operations.
