Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for executing test plans and performing laboratory testing as defined by the Quality Engineering Team to ensure product quality and compliance with standards. This includes sample preparation, conducting standardized tests, accurately recording data, and reporting results. The technician promptly communicates any quality concerns or test failures and supports production teams by identifying non-conformances to maintain consistent product quality. Strict adherence to safety protocols and testing procedures is essential.
As a QA Lab Technician you would play a critical role in ensuring that we maintain the established quality specifications for all of our products.
Essential Functions
Responsible and authorized to continuously improve upon and perform all tasks and duties in accordance with BD Employee Policy Guidelines, BD Safety Guidelines and BD Quality System procedures and processes.
- Conduct testing of raw materials and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Capture and document photos of test setups for accuracy and reference.
- Provide clear and timely feedback regarding test results and any identified issues.
- Follow established test plans, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure reliable and consistent results.
- Assist in troubleshooting and investigating test failures or inconsistencies with the Engineering Team.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing procedures.

Requirements
Education
- Required: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in Engineering or a lab-intensive field, or progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Science Engineering.
Work Experience
- Required: Previous experience in a role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Preferred: 1-2 years of quality lab testing or manufacturing experience.

- Basic computer skills, including Excel, email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
