Background:

The Black Doctors Consortium (BDC~bdccares.com) was created during the COVID-19 pandemic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in response to the disproportionate rates of African Americans being diagnosed and dying from COVID-19. The BDC provided critical barrier free care, access and education to ALL who needed resources and especially the most vulnerable. From this work the Dr. Ala Stanford Center for Health Equity (ASHE) was established recognizing the continued presence in Philadelphia to mitigate health disparities. We believe that every person deserves access to quality, empathetic healthcare.

Job Description:

We are seek a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (PCP) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. As a key member of our practice, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

  • Deliver high-quality, preventative and therapeutic medical care tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses with an emphasis on evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Uphold a commitment to professionalism, empathy, and excellence in patient care


Roles and Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities

   •   Conduct routine physical exams, screenings, and preventive care for patients.

   •   Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory illnesses.

   •   Develop personalized treatment plans and provide patient education on disease management and lifestyle modifications.

   •   Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work, imaging, and EKGs.

   •   Administer vaccinations and provide guidance on immunization schedules.

   •   Manage medication prescriptions and adjustments, ensuring patient safety and compliance.

   •   Refer patients to specialists when necessary and coordinate follow-up care.

Patient and Community Engagement & Communication

   •   Build strong relationships with patients and their families to promote long-term health.

   •   Educate patients on preventive health measures, wellness strategies, and chronic disease management. 

   •   Address patient concerns, answer questions, and provide compassionate, culturally competent care. 

 •   Participate in community educational workshops and health fairs.  

Collaboration & Teamwork

   •   Work closely with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff.

   •   Collaborate with specialists, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

   •   Participate in case discussions and care coordination meetings.

Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities

   •   Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMRs).

   •   Adhere to all state and federal medical regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.

   •   Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance-based programs.

   •   Stay updated with the latest medical advancements, treatment protocols, and guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

   •   Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.

   •   Licensure: Must have or be eligible for a valid Pennsylvania medical license.

   •   Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

   •   Experience: Previous experience in primary care, outpatient medicine, or internal medicine preferred.

   •   Skills: Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills with a patient-first approach.

   •   Certifications: BLS/ACLS certification required.

  •   All employees are required to be fully vaccinate
