BFDI is a CARF accredited, licensed, comprehensive human services organization committed to serving all persons, while specializing in evidence-based counseling, treatment, and advocacy for persons of color. Agency programming includes early childhood resources and literacy development, a 3-tiered juvenile justice service array, mental health prevention and treatment, substance use disorder prevention and treatment, boys and young men of color supportive resources, school-based intervention, and trauma-informed care. Our organization is seeking a Full-time Finance Director with the corresponding experience requirements:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the CFO in managing daily financial operations, including accounts; payables, receivables, cost, assuring the prompt payment of bills, check reconciliations, and HR functions. Candidate will be sure to ensure accurate maintenance of financial and accounting records, while managing the organization’s annual and department contracts and budgets for functional areas and comparisons to actual results. The position will oversee fiscal office financial activities, report on revenue, train accounting staff, budget, manage risk, implement agency policies, and improve financial processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
Perform regular financial analysis.
Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments.
Establish targets and manage all accounting and finance employees including management accountants and internal auditors.
Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
Prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance.
Guarantee compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
Recognize patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas.
Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company
Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.
Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent risks.
Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system.
Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.
Assist with the development of BFDI’s corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors.
Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives.
Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
Monitors the fiscal and key performance indicator data interface for agency programs to ensure cost efficiency of BFDI services.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and advanced Excel skills.
Proficiency in GAAP, GAAS, and Federal Budgeting Standards, accounting software,
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are all required skills.
Must be able to maintain a collaborative and flexible work style, with a strong service mentality, and commitment to BFDI’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Business or Finance required. A minimum of 10 years of non - profit and corporate finance experience with a focus on auditing, legal compliance and budget development is required. Candidate will have experience leading fiscal planning and finance office activities in a medium-to-large operationally effective organization with multiple contracting and fiduciary responsibilities. Candidate must have the ability to translate financial information and effectively collaborate with non-finance colleagues. Knowledge of internal controls and risk management required; ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
All candidates must demonstrate familiarity with computer spreadsheet software, preferably Excel and Microsoft, as well as General Accounting software as well.
