Job Summary:
We are seeking passionate and energetic Swim Instructors who are committed to preserving Black and Brown joy through water safety and swim instruction. The ideal candidate will bring a firm yet nurturing approach, ensuring each child receives high-quality instruction while progressing in their swim journey. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for building connections with children and families, maintaining a clean and organized pool deck, , and creating a positive, inclusive and culturally-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive 20 minutes before your shift to ensure you are fully prepared and the pool deck is clean, organized, and safe.
- Conduct swim lessons with high energy, creativity, and a firm yet nurturing approach to engage children and ensure they are making progress.
- Take attendance at the beginning of every class and ensure all records are accurate.
-Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck and surrounding area before and after your shift.
- Report any incidents or concerns to management at the end of your shift.
- Provide monthly reports to your supervisor to discuss class progress, student engagement, and any challenges.
- Ensure safety procedures and protocols are followed at all times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in swim instruction, teaching, or working with children is preferred.
- Ability to bring creative solutions to engage students of varying skill levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with children and families.
- Must have or be willing to obtain necessary swim instructor certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Life guard, etc.).
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
