JOB
Under general supervision, performs tasks required in the maintenance, repair and construction activities, and resource management carried out by the Conservation Department. Work may be performed with limited supervision but a supervisor may regularly check for conformance with periodic inspections.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance at a specified location in order to perform assigned tasks.Performs construction, maintenance and repair of various facilities including roads, buildings, utilities, grounds, etc.Operates various types of heavy construction and maintenance equipment, specialized equipment, power and hand tools.Services equipment and makes minor repairs and adjustments as necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.Assists mechanic with major repairs as needed.Assists in resource management of prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers and streams.Assists in general labor tasks as assigned.Provides guidance to other employees as needed.Performs functions in accordance with county and conservation safety policies and procedures.Other duties may be assignedSUPERVISION RECEIVED: Administrative supervision is received from the Unit Ranger and functional supervision is received from the Maintenance II, Maintenance III, and or designated representative.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Functional supervision is exercised over support staff.
