Under general supervision of the Roadside Biologist and Road Superintendent; assists with the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management related work to control noxious weeds and promote desirable vegetation, performs heavy manual labor; drives truck and operates other equipment to maintain County roads.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance at a specified location in order to perform assigned tasks.Assists in roadside vegetation tasks such as control of invasive weeds, brush, and trees through mechanical and/or chemical methods, including herbicide spraying, mowing, cutting and prescribed burning. Plants seeds to promote healthy re-growth and establishment of native plant communities. Assists with erosion control, including installation of erosion control blankets, waddles, and other products. Assists with accurate records of treated locations.Operates County equipment as necessary including hand and power tools.Drives farm-type tractor with mower attachment to cut grass and weeds.Performs snow removal and a variety of manual labor.Follows proper safety procedures and takes pro-active measures to avoid potential harm to equipment and personnel.Performs routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and operability.Other duties as assigned.
