Position summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Application Manager to lead our team of quality engineers. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire quality assurance process, ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. The IT Application Manager will be responsible for guiding the team through requirements gathering, documentation, test planning, and execution of quality assurance testing. By fostering a collaborative environment, the manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies and will continuously strive to improve QA processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams. Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and application management is essential for success in this position.

Pay Range: $113,650 - $187,700 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship: Director of Enterprise Business Applications

Essential Functions:
Lead and manage a team of quality engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
Oversee the requirements gathering process, ensuring that all business and technical requirements are accurately documented and understood. Ensure the team is completing this process in a timely and consistent manner.
Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and test scripts to validate application functionality, performance, and reliability. Implement solutions to ensure test plans, scripts, and evidence are completed in a consistent manner across teams and products.
Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality of applications. Prepare and present regular reports on QA activities, progress, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
Coordinate and execute quality assurance testing, identifying and resolving any issues or defects in a timely manner.
Lead the process for establishing a consistent and efficient intake of work requests, ensuring that all incoming tasks are thoroughly reviewed and documented. Analyze and evaluate the intake to identify and prioritize the most valuable and impactful items for the organization, aligning them with strategic goals and resource availability.
Manage budgets and financials related to the quality engineering team, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints. Assist the Director of IT Enterprise Applications in preparing and managing the IT Enterprise Applications budget, forecasting costs, tracking expenses, and looking for ways to optimize costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in quality assurance and application management.

Additional Responsibilities:
Ability and willingness to lead IT initiatives across IT departments such as IT Maintenance Windows, Disaster Recovery Exercises, and Outage Situation Management.
Assigns work to team members, monitors performance, and conducts performance appraisals.
Develop a 5-year plan and budget to achieve integration of systems, consistency and availability of platforms to effectively and efficiently support the organizations strategic goals.

What Is Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading teams, projects, or delivering value through technology systems and projects.

What Is Desired:
Demonstrated ability to lead and make well informed decisions with little or no guidance and accountable for all decisions and actions.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead projects from start to finish.
Demonstrated understanding of process improvement tools, financial/accounting processes, compliance issues and processes, and development of financial and IT metrics.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with direct and indirect reports within the IT department.
Understanding the phases of SDLC and how quality assurance fits into each phase.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to stand up and develop teams while enabling new capabilities for the team and organization.
Strong communication skills allowing effective partnership with business partners to develop technology solutions that resolve complex business problems.
