This position supports CLFP Substations and Line Operations.
Pay Range: $34.37 - $45.82 per hour (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Essential Functions
- Installation, maintenance, calibration and testing of transmission and distribution class substation equipment.
- Installation, maintenance, calibration and testing of transmission and distribution class line equipment.
- Testing of all equipment including, but not limited to: AC and DC insulation testing, High Current Low Resistance Testing, high current trip/reclosing testing, transformer ratio testing, dissolved gas in oil sampling, oil quality testing, contact/connection resistance testing, circuit breaker motion analysis, SF6 gas moisture testing, SF6 Corrosive Sulfur Testing, battery and strap impedance, specific gravity testing, electronic control testing and DOBLE power factor testing and excitation.
- Test all equipment in accordance to the BHC Test and Maintenance Policy to satisfy NERC and FERC.
- Submit switch order requests for scheduled work in accordance with applicable company policies.
- Emergency response and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment and control problems.
- Provide both transmission and distribution switching in CLFP and WAPA substations and power lines as required.
- Wiring of high and low voltage equipment and devices. Includes conduit installation, cable tray installations, high and low voltage wire termination.
- Inspection, acceptance, checkout and testing of all new substation and line equipment installations.
- Record keeping and documentation (electronic and hardcopy) of all maintenance and emergency response assignments. Provide and interpret reports as requested.
- Compliance with all maintenance programs, installation standards and work procedures established by the Company.
- Knowledge and compliance to safety policies, procedures and standards established by the Company and regulatory agencies.
- Work with and advice Apprentice Electricians, temporary laborers and contractors as assigned.
- Attend safety meetings and other employee training as assigned.
- Respond to emergency callout work as needed.
- Perform other duties, which are similar, related to, or incidental to this position as directed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate's Degree Two year Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years Electrical work.
- Substation Electrician experience
- Class B CDL License Must possess and maintain Class B CDL and have the ability to obtain one within 30 Days
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience, (Experience will be qualified by a qualifications committee). Upon Hire
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel; PeopleSoft; GT Viewer and EAM, preferred.
- Working knowledge of Electrical Theory.
- Must have practical electrical knowledge and experience applying National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC) to High Voltage and Low Voltage situations.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatics systems, preferred.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Accurately revise drawings as necessary.
- Interpret manufacturers’ equipment manuals.
- Demonstrate problem solving abilities.
- Constructively communicate and interact within work group.
- Learn new software applications used in our industry.
- Demonstrate a safe work ethic.
