Description
General Purpose: Responsible for working daily, weekly and monthly share draft reports, as well as generating letters associated with those reports.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for phone or in-person member and staff contact regarding share draft questions or concerns, which may be adversarial in nature.
- Verify the accuracy of share draft files and postings.
- Verify the accuracy of all general ledger accounts for share draft clearings, NSFs, rejected items, stop payments and other share draft liabilities daily.
- Determine which NSF items will be paid and which will be returned unpaid. Post service charges to member accounts promptly.
- Responsible for processing share draft inquiries, returns, and stop payments.
- Responsible for all share draft closings being processed according to Credit Union policies.
- Responsible for collection of overdrawn accounts as directed.
- Notify members with dormant share draft accounts and follow up with the member's request to close or reactivate the account.
- Responsible for generating and working weekly and monthly share draft reports.
- Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive and technology environments that may affect the share draft program.
- Assist ACH Specialist with his/her daily duties. Perform all ACH Specialist duties in his/her absence.
- Responsible for daily operations relating to the Overdraft Privilege Program.
- Responsible for preparing negative share draft accounts for charge-offs and reporting them to the credit bureau and collection agency.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze existing departmental systems and procedures. Make changes necessary to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Share Draft/Purchasing Manager.
Job Knowledge
- Working knowledge of the Credit Union's products and services.
- Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and Credit Union's service philosophy.
- Working knowledge of Credit Union's in-house computer system.
- Working knowledge of item processing hardware and software.

Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)
Job requires a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills. Two years experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.
