POSITION PURPOSE:
This Physician Assistant will work in the clinic to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal services to scheduled and non-scheduled patients in conjunction with supervising physicians. FOOT/ANKLE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Conduct daily clinic for follow-ups, post-operatives and emergent problems.
o Perform and document complete History and Physicals, scheduled and non-scheduled.
o Assist supervising physicians in evaluating and managing work-in and existing patients.
o Work emergent patients into daily schedules.
o Application of casts and splints.
o Prescription refills.
o Patient telephone calls and tech calls.
o Ordering and evaluating the appropriate diagnostic studies.
o Joint and trigger point injections.
o Implement daily clinic during designated hours.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
o Assist in professional evaluations. Performance appraisals for this position will be conducted
according to clinic guidelines by the Team Leader with input from the supervising physicians.
o Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED
o State of South Dakota licensure for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
o Maintain NCCPA and/or CNP certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
o Graduate of a Certified Physician Assistant program OR
o Graduate of a Certified Nurse Practitioner program.
o 2 Years of experience working in Orthopedics.
