Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is a public entity that is an educational cooperative under the State of South Dakota. BHSSC is comprised of five divisions dedicated to aiding school districts, individuals, and the communities. BHSSC is seeking outgoing individuals to join our team. DSPs work with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing the support they need in daily life. Some duties will include providing direct care and support to individuals and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. DSPs will administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals, assist with meal planning, preparation, and eating, support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities, including accompanying individuals in the community and assisting with transportation needs. This position requires a valid driver's license. DSPs will assist to maintain a clean and safe living environment for individuals. Skills that a successful candidate will have include experience in senior care, special education instruction, ability to work with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities, challenging behaviors, and strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with individuals of all kinds. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary. DSPs must also be able to adapt to changing situations and demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding.

BHSSC is immediately hiring for the following:
- Full-time Residential DSP in Sturgis, SD- evenings/weekend hours. The base pay is $19.00 per hour with a $3.00 an hour evening differential and $4.00 an hour differential for weekend shift. Full time benefits.
- Part-time Residential DSP in Sturgis, SD-evenings/weekend hours. The base pay is $19.00 per hour with a $3.00 an hour evening differential and $4.00 an hour differential for weekend shift.
Full time employees are eligible for an excellent benefit package, including individual health, dental and life insurance, Paid Personal Leave (PPL), and participation in the SD Retirement System. Employees pay approximately $30 per pay period for single benefits. Regularly scheduled part-time employees accrue PPL.
Salary: Wage is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour to start, depending on the position/shift (hours worked) hired for.
Qualifications:

- Physical & Clean Drug Screen,
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
