Marine Mechanic – Punta Gorda Location

Black Label Marine Group LLC is seeking to hire a strong candidate for a Marine Mechanic position at our Punta Gorda Location.

Overview:

The Marine Mechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, service and rigging of boats, electronics, machinery, and trailers.

Responsibilities:

• The ideal applicant should have a strong background and training in marine mechanical work, including, but not limited to, troubleshooting and diagnosis of all boat systems, motors & electrical as well as rigging accessories, outboard services and on water testing.
• Ensure all new and used sold boats/trailers are safe, prepped properly and ready for delivery with required safety gear.
• Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
• Advise/Communicate required repairs with Service Manager & Writer/advisors.
• Complete required repair work within the established allotted timeframe or be able to accurately explain why certain jobs take longer.
• Ensure all warranty work is completed according to the manufacturer’s and BLMG requirements/guidelines.
• Applicant must have at a minimum the basic tools required for service and repair work (specialty tools provided by BLMG).
• Applicants will be required to maintain all tools in good condition and maintain the service area in a clean, safe condition, and effective work environment.
• Ability to make small gel coat & cosmetic repairs is a plus.

Requirements:

• Maintain a positive attitude and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Self-motivated (Quality of Hours, Not Quantity!)
• Timely and accurate completion of work.
• Maintain 100% productivity with disciplined time management skills or willingness to learn how.
• Take and follow directions, understand and follow schedules and game plans.
• Proficient with computers including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products and Dealer Management Systems (training will be provided).
• Relay to the Service Manager and input into computer accurate time, descriptions, and notes on completed jobs accurately and timely.
• Internal/External customer satisfaction.
• Perform all work in a safe clean manner leaving boat in top condition.
• Good hygiene and cleanliness are required.
• Project a professional, courteous, and knowledgeable image to all customers.
• Safe operation of company vehicles, forklifts, and equipment, including trailer handling.
• Position may also require at times:
• To safely attend to customers at the fuel dock including pumping fuel.
• At times cover for coworkers at front desk & phones (customer service experience is a plus).
• Safely operating a large marina forklift, where prior experience is a plus, but if not, then training & certification will be provided.
• Cleaning of interior and exterior of boats, trailers, and equipment.
• Coordinating and maintaining an organized and presentable marina.

Black Label Marine Group LLC locations are certified Mercury and Yamaha sales and service dealerships. Mechanics shall have the opportunity to become certified and further their training and abilities through Manufacturer led certified courses if they work hard and can properly represent us and our brand.

Compensation for this position is hourly based and based on experience, ability, and performance. There will eventually be opportunity for Flat Rate based compensation as well as opportunity for bonuses and potential commissions.

Benefits are available for full time employees on the 1stof the month following 30 days from hire date. Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
