Measurement Technician

Description

  Calibration/Measurement Technician is expected to be self-motivated and ambitious. Solution oriented and accepts responsibility for actions taken. Expected to share expertise with others and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while on the clock. Expected to work outside in all weather conditions performing calibration services for clients of Black Label Services. Expected to balance team and individual responsibilities and commit to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals or meet deadlines. Seeks out opportunities for growth and additional responsibilities. Ability to adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Calibration Technician is expected to be to work on time ready and prepared for the day’s work including proper attire and PPE. A positive attitude and forward thinking are also a requirement of the Calibration Technician position.  

Requirements

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep accurate records of all hours logged, inventory parts used, and services performed.
• Efficiently follow direction from Leads, Foremen, and Supervisors.
• Maintain professional behavior and proper communication with internal and external contacts.
• Properly utilize and care for and secure all company tools, supplies, and vehicles.
• Comply with all corporate policies and OSHA rules while carrying out all work processes.
• Effectively manage time, follow directions, and complete work within a specified time.
• Successfully complete requested training classes and maintain all necessary safety certificates.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and hazard free.
• Being sufficiently motivated and ambitious.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
• Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
• Company Vehicle, Clean, Maintained, Truck Inspections Performed. Without having to be asked or prodded to complete.
• Ability to manage time and schedule ensuring all calibrations are done before or on due dates.
• Documentation and paperwork complete and accurate.
• Communication with producers, and operators on location, letting operators know the process and which meter tubes you will be calibrating, and how you will follow procedures outlined by each customer.
• Keeping accurate records on which meters have been calibrated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Expected to work outside for extended periods of time.
• Long periods of standing, crouching, leaning, and stretching.
• Expected to work in all weather conditions unless otherwise notified by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Able to troubleshoot calibration equipment to ensure equipment is working properly and accurately.
• Able to calibrate in a Total Flow static, diff, temp.
• Able to calibrate in a ROC.
• Able to calibrate in a Flow Boss.
• Able to calibrate a Scanner 2000.
• Able to calibrate a Nu Flow.
• Able to troubleshoot XMV for issues
• Able to troubleshoot MVS for issues.
• Able to isolate and check orifice plates on seps, VRU’s, check meters, sales meters and gas lift meters.
• Able to shut in a meter tube correctly with LOTO and put meter tube back into production.
• Able to perform gas samples with NGC.
• Able to complete paperwork completely and accurately per customers’ expectations.
• Understand Beta keeping meters compliant.
• Ability to understand the difference between a normal lease and a BLM lease.
• Leaves location better than found location.
• Ensures all meters worked on are back into correct service as they were found.
• Communicates issues to operators, does the right thing, and never walks away from an issue.
