Description

The Mic and Grinding Technician is responsible for making sure that the welds of the pipe are consistent and within set tolerances. This individual will hone the internal welds to create a consistent I.D of pipe.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Read and interpret specifications & blueprints.
• Safely pickup & transport pipe assemblies.
• Grind internal pipe welds to smooth surface.
• MIC internal diameter at given points as indicated on MIC sheet.
• Record Mic readings on MIC sheet.
• Understand measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, Bore gauges.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Good with numbers, understand thousandths.
• Ability to run power tools.
• Hone internal welds to create consistent I.D. of pipe.
• A willingness to cross train and assist in other shop functions as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum Experience: 1-year plus in manufacturing environment
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to life 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
• Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/sitting
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
• Visual and auditory acuity
  
  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Shop and office, potentially a high stress environment with prolonged hours.
• Driving, walking, sitting and some lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Computer work.
• Significant time spent in a manufacturing environment.
• 40 hours per week which may include some early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
• Overtime as required.
