Your Mission

As our Structural Steel Field Welder/Ironworker, you’ll be on the front lines of assembling, welding, and installing structural steel. You’ll ensure each project meets our high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency, even when conditions shift due to weather or challenging site environments.

What You’ll Do

On-Site Welding & Erection

• Must have AWS D1.1 Certification to weld structural steel components using Flux Core and Stick welding.
• Install steel beams, columns, and handrails using proper rigging and hoisting equipment.
• Align, position, and secure parts and assemblies accurately, following detailed erection drawings.

Field Fabrication & Fitting

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to confirm precise fit-up of structural components.
• Use cutting torches, grinders, and other tools to make field modifications or repairs as needed.

Safety & Quality Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, hazard assessments, and site-specific requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of welds to guarantee alignment, integrity, and compliance with industry standards.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

• Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and hoists to move and position materials.
• Be knowledgeable with crane work.
• Maintain and troubleshoot welding machines and tools for optimal performance on the job site.

Teamwork & Coordination

• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to meet construction schedules.
• Communicate effectively with field crews to address challenges and adapt to changing conditions.

Mandatory Requirements

• AWS D1.1 Certification
• Ability to interpret erection drawings
• Good driving record preferred
• Self-starter who can arrive on time and work independently

Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory but a Plus)

• D1.5 Certification (all thicknesses, all positions)
• Leadership experience or background in crew supervision
• NR 232 Certification
• OSHA 10 and related equipment certifications
• Strong work history and proven reliability

What You Bring

• 5 years of welding (field only) experience (Preferred)
• Proficiency in Flux Core and stick welding for structural steel
• Solid understanding of standard construction practices, rigging, and hoisting
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality workmanship under tight deadlines

Job Type & Compensation

• Full-time
• Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
• Expected Hours: 40 per week
• Schedule: Typically, 8- to 10-hour shifts, with weather-dependent adjustments for safety
