Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining press brake machines to shape and form metal sheets into specified designs. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements.
- Set up and adjust machine controls to ensure accurate bending operations.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines with a strong understanding of bending techniques.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, plasma cutting, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Experience with CNC machinery is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
- Experience using cranes for material handling is a plus.
- Knowledge of lathe operations is beneficial but not required.
