Black Mountain Capital is seeking a Senior Analyst/Underwriter for our commercial real estate credit division. 

This is a role with unlimited upside and growth potential. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the underwriting and closing of commercial real estate debt transactions, with strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze market trends.

This position will enable the candidate to be involved in every stage of the transaction, including underwriting, market research, preparation of offering memoranda and term sheets, and to also manage the information flow between the borrower and the lender to facilitate the closing of the loan.

The successful candidate is a self-starter, is passionate about finance and real estate and wants to be an integral part of growing a successful business and brand.


Responsibilities:


·       Work directly with senior management and assist in the underwriting of the firm’s commercial real estate credit transactions (senior, mezzanine and preferred equity).

·       Excel modeling and real estate valuation analysis.

·       Collect, review, and analyze credit, legal, market, property and borrower level due diligence.

·       Manage the due diligence process and be the driving force to manage and work through the closing processes for each transaction.

·       Prepare presentations, underwriting models and credit memoranda describing highly structured transactions, evaluating investment merits and risks, market dynamics, and projected returns.

·       Present opportunities in a thoughtful manner to senior management for consideration.

·       Work with borrowers, investors and lenders to facilitate a seamless diligence and loan closing process.

·       Manage third party vendor relationships.


Qualifications:

·       2 years of commercial real estate loan underwriting experience for both stabilized and transitional properties.

·       Strong financial modeling, research, analytical and problem-solving skills. 

·       Ability to properly analyze qualitative and quantitative information in a timely manner.

·       Experience closing highly structured commercial loans.

·       Collaborative work style yet can work independently when necessary.

·       Ability to multi-task in a team-oriented, fast paced environment and work successfully under pressure.

·       Effective organizational and time management skills.

·       Capacity to work on multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.

·       Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.

·       Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and self-discipline.

·       Demonstrated track record of excellence in academic, professional, and personal endeavors.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.

·       Working knowledge of Argus is a plus.

·       Bachelor’s degree with strong academic qualifications.
