What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bistro Clerk PT position at Black Oak Casino Hotel?
SUMMARY: Responsible for the preparation and service of all Turnback Creek Bistro food and beverage menu items in an impressively professional, courteous and timely manner.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)
- Maintains a positive attitude and acts in a consistently professional manner towards Guests and Team Members.
- Opens/closes the Turnback Creek Bistro as scheduled.
- Prepares and serves all food and beverage items by following approved recipes and maintaining consistent portion controls and quality standards.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and proper sanitation of the work area and equipment. Performs routine equipment cleaning and standard daily cleaning/maintenance as needed.
- Properly uses a cash register and collects payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card processing and accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all retail merchandise and Resort amenities in order to answer Guest questions accurately.
- Ensures proper inventory controls by maintaining accurate records of merchandise and beverage supplies.
- Assists in inspecting merchandise and daily merchandising of the Turnback Creek Bistro.
- Ensures all communication containing The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians; TEDA, Inc.; Black Oak Casino Resort and Guest information is consistent with privacy policies and procedures.
- Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damages, and engineering and safety hazards to management.
- Writes shift reports including any incident of theft, accident or injury as assigned.
- Attends departmental meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. Participates in committees as requested.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe and Responsible Alcohol Service certification or have proof of current certification.
- Must complete Counterfeit training.
- Experience in guest service, cash handling and in the food and beverage industry preferred.
- Existing knowledge of common industry terms and practices preferred.
- Must have the ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
- Must have ability to learn and operate point-of-sale system.
- Must display a consistently professional attitude and behavioral choices.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment (sometimes under pressure) while remaining professional, flexible and efficient.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
- Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and background check.
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
Physical Demands:
- Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
Work Environment:
- Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment.
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
