Job Title: Pulmonologist
Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Black Owl Recruiting is searching for a dedicated and skilled Pulmonologist for a very reputable client. The Pulmonologist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing respiratory and pulmonary disorders. This role involves working with patients to provide comprehensive care for a variety of lung conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and interstitial lung diseases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pulmonary medicine and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage patients with respiratory and pulmonary conditions, including but not limited to asthma, COPD, lung infections, and pulmonary fibrosis.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, and imaging studies (e.g., chest X-rays, CT scans).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic and acute respiratory conditions.
- Provide critical care to patients with severe respiratory illnesses, including those requiring mechanical ventilation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, nurses, and specialists, to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory diseases, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
- Stay current with advancements in pulmonary medicine through continuous education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Pulmonology (ABIM or equivalent).
- Valid state medical license.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a range of pulmonary disorders.
- Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in performing and interpreting pulmonary function tests and other relevant procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine or a subspecialty (e.g., Critical Care, Interventional Pulmonology).
- Experience with advanced pulmonary procedures and technologies.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Research experience or interest in academic medicine.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a clinical environment, which may involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of moderate weights.
- Capability to manage a high volume of patient interactions and handle complex cases.
