Job Summary
The Store Manager leads the daily operations of a Black Pearl location and is responsible for delivering a smooth, profitable, and high-quality experience for both team members and customers. This role sets the tone and culture of the store, champions product knowledge and service excellence, and ensures all operational and training standards are consistently met.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Drive store profitability by increasing sales and controlling COGS, labor, and operating expenses
- Monitor and manage daily, weekly, and annual performance reports
- Create and manage schedules to match business needs while maintaining labor cost targets
- Oversee all POS functions, including opening/closing procedures and cash handling
- Ensure compliance with company policies and loss prevention standards
- Maintain a clean, well-merchandised, and organized store in line with brand standards
- Lead store promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns
- Recruit, hire, and train team members to build a strong and reliable team
Product & Quality
- Ensure every drink is made according to company recipes and standards
- Maintain top quality for all food and drink offerings
- Educate staff on ingredients, tea types, brewing methods, and product knowledge
- Conduct taste checks and product evaluations during shifts to ensure consistency
Training & Team Development
- Provide hands-on training in operations, service, and product standards
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where feedback is welcomed
- Ensure every team member is well-trained to perform their role effectively
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations
- Coach and counsel team members to support growth and address performance gaps
Qualifications
- College education preferred
- Minimum 1 year of retail or food service management experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Excellent verbal and written English communication
- Physically able to stand for long periods and handle food and equipment safely
- Must have the ability to adjust to various lighting and focus ranges (day/night shifts)
