This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, manages broker relationships, and optimizes financial measures surrounding benefits programs. Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration:
- Own and manage all aspects of the company’s health, wellness, and 401(k) benefit programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators to negotiate and implement competitive benefit plans.
- Lead and execute Open Enrollment, including communication strategies, employee education, and system updates.
- Provide ongoing benefits education to employees and address inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
- Evaluate and manage financial measures surrounding benefits programs, including cost analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure appropriate tax filings, deductions, and benefit contributions.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Collaborate with Finance and HR leadership to optimize payroll processes and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to benefits and payroll.
- Maintain internal controls in accordance with SOX which includes providing timely support to external and internal auditors.
- Prepare and submit required reports and filings, including ACA reporting and 401(k) audits.
- Partner with Finance to manage benefits cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Supervise and mentor the Benefits and Payroll Coordinator.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, ensuring high levels of employee satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-years of experience in benefits and payroll administration.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Experience managing Open Enrollment and broker relationships.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting related to benefits programs.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
