Summary
Black River Area Child Care Center is looking for a caring and dependable Assistant Childcare Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. The Assistant Teacher will help with classroom activities, supervision, and daily care routines while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. Pay based on experience.
Duties
Classroom Support Child Engagement :
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
Engage with children through play, storytelling, songs, and hands-on activities.
Encourage positive social interactions and help children develop emotional and self-regulation skills.
Child Supervision Care :
Monitor children to ensure a safe and healthy environment at all times.
Assist with mealtime, diapering, toileting, and nap time routines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and play areas.
Teamwork Communication :
Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to create a supportive classroom environment.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding daily activities and child progress.
Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures.
Professional Development Growth :
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Be open to learning and implementing best practices in early childhood education.
Support the Lead Teacher in preparing materials and setting up activities.
Requirements
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications : CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must be 18 years of age.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children.
Additional requirements to be discussed prior to first day working with children.
