The Insurance personnel ensures the accurate and efficient processing of insurance claims and billing activities. The role involves filing claims, resolving billing issues, minimizing accounts receivable (AR) days, and maintaining effective communication with payers, patients, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities also include the processing of payments and generating financial reports. The position available is:
- Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, benefited. Day Shift M-F
Essential Duties Include:
- Reviews, corrects, and submits insurance claims electronically or on paper, ensuring compliance with payer-specific requirements and attaching necessary documentation, such as EOBs, medical records, or forms.
- Follows up with payers to address denials, initiate claim reviews or appeals, and monitor coverage and reimbursement guidelines for all government and commercial payers while keeping AR days below 40.
- Works directly with patients to resolve billing concerns, monitor payment plans for compliance with clinic policies, and identify past-due accounts for collection agency placement.
- Maintains up-to-date provider manuals, tracks insurance-specific requirements, and distributes updates to clinic staff as necessary.
Educational Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Customer service or medical billing experience preferred
- Proficiency in office equipment use and data entry accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
