Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in our fleet of vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Technician will work independently and collaboratively to ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related mechanical systems, including fuel systems, electrical systems, air intake, exhaust systems, and transmissions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Conduct inspections to determine the condition of vehicles and equipment and prepare detailed reports of findings.
- Replace or repair defective parts and components as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with team members to improve repair processes and enhance service delivery.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours for customer invoicing and internal tracking.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in diesel technology.
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel technology or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of diesel engines.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment, and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with electronic engine management systems and the ability to use computer-based diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
