What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at BLACK ROOSTER BISTRO?
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to work directly with the owners on a daily basis to uphold the standard people have grown to love and expect when dining at The Black Rooster Bistro. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for cooking and are looking to grow in our business as well as the restaurant industry.
Black Rooster Bistro is looking to add a Sous Chef to our team. We are located in the lower level of the historic opera house at 516 2nd Street in downtown Hudson.
Responsibilities
- Help train and develop chefs to company standards
- Help create new dishes for menus in accordance with business needs
- Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
- Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
- Weekly ordering and receiving along with proper food rotation.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a kitchen lead or sous chef
- High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
- Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
- Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
