Blackbeard’s Restaurant nestled on iconic North Beach has been serving casual coastal cuisine since 1991. We offer a wide-ranging menu of seafood, steaks and comfort food, a full bar, Blackbeard’s merchandise and souvenirs, as well as live music. Blackbeard’s prides itself on making and hand-breading what we serve in-house, from our seasonings and sauces to our sides and fried food items.

Blackbeard's is the “bright purple building” and enjoys the distinction of being one of the oldest structures still standing on North Beach, having withstood its fair share of hurricanes and mayhem since the 1950s—not to mention the paranormal activity many customers, employees and paranormal investigators have experienced themselves over the years. Don’t worry, “the ghost” doesn’t tend to come out much while we’re open.

Upon entering, you’ll find a uniquely themed pirate and rock 'n roll mom and pop kitchen. Some have dubbed Blackbeard's a mini rock 'n roll museum, as the late owner Steve Bonillas began collecting music memorabilia before passing in 2012.

The restaurant is a tale of two seasons. The summer months, it’s a bustling family friendly restaurant catering to tourists from all over. In the winter months, one can enjoy a quiet meal around locals while live music is played on the patio in the evenings. A favorite spot for those who seek unusual, one-of-a-kind restaurants, Blackbeard's enjoys a following among locals and tourists alike.

Food Preparation Worker

Duties:

- Assist in the preparation and production of food items
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Assist with receiving and storing food supplies
- Collaborate with the line cooks to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations

Skills:

- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) as needed

Join our crew as a Food Prep! You will assist in the preparation and production of food items for a seasonal, coastal casual restaurant. Your attention to detail, ability to follow recipes, and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace will be essential in ensuring the success of our catering operations.

To excel in this position, you should have a basic understanding of food preparation techniques and be comfortable working with kitchen equipment. You must be able to follow instructions accurately, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.

Strong communication skills are essential as you will be working closely with the culinary team to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations. Additionally, flexibility is required as this position will involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays (closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) based on the demands of our schedule.
