What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Instructor position at Blackberry?
The Culinary Instructor and Cook will lead daily cooking demonstrations for our guests at Blackberry Farm as well as support the catering and culinary operations of Bramble Hall.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Host interactive cooking demonstrations with Blackberry Farm guests
- Responsible for the preparation, execution and cleanup of cooking demonstrations
- Adhere to adjustments in demonstration to accommodate guest dietary restrictions and allergies
- Make sure guests get all the materials such as recipes and any other special request that come up during the demos
- Work with the Bramble Hall Executive Chef to develop and implement new demo experiences for our guest
- Support Bramble Hall in catering preparation and execution, as well as other culinary tasks as assigned (~50% of time)
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays and required by the available work
- Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests daily
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3-6 years of work experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of Team Members and Guests in a professional and courteous manner
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Understanding of basic math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to be on feet for the majority of the day
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
