About The Job
Data analytics, business insights, and data science are a critical components of Blackbird Labs’ decision making process: we work in partnership with Product, Engineering, Design, Go-to-Market, and Marketing to influence the roadmap, better understand our users and identify opportunities for growth. With a fundamental expertise in experimentation, analytics and advanced modeling, we surface insights to impact the company’s bottom line.
Responsibilities
Depending on your work location and experience the target annual salary for this position is: $180,000 - $200,000 USD. This does not include the variable or equity components of the overall compensation package. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.
Full time offers from Blackbird may also include stock options, benefits (including medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and some not-so-standard, extra-fun perks — subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility.

About The Job

Responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to solve ambiguous problems for our business. Your work will result in insights and recommendations that guide the team’s decision making, across all facets of the company
- Act as owner for a broad scope of data and metrics, from core logging to presentation of data visualizations.
- Maintain a high bar for statistical rigor. Ensure that we’re conducting experimentation and causal analyses that build confidence with your stakeholders.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market and Marketing teams to solve problems and identify product, market and customer trends and opportunities
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, and deep-dive analyses to monitor company performance to be shared regularly with leadership as well as the Board
- Partner with leadership and key stakeholders to establish and maintain core business KPIs, ensuring alignment across teams.
- A BA/BS in a quantitative field (ex Math, Stats, Physics, or Computer Science) with ≥5 years of relevant experience or a PhD in a quantitative field with with ≥3 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in driving impactful data science projects that tackle ambiguous problem spaces.
- Ability to influence external stakeholders by synthesizing data learnings into compelling stories.
- Practical expertise in applying complex modeling frameworks to practical business problems.
- Strong SQL and Python skills; ability to write and optimize complex queries for large datasets.
- Experience with BI tools (Looker, Mode, Metabase, or equivalent).
- Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle.
- Initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance
- Communicating the results of analyses to leadership teams to influence the company strategy
- Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry, or a deep knowledge of the local restaurant market and F&B culture
- Interest in serving up a game-changing loyalty platform for the best restaurants
