Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring competitive bids, and supporting project planning and execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs, as well as the ability to analyze blueprints and specifications to deliver precise and timely estimates.
Responsibilities :
- Cost Estimation : Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, based on blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
- Bid Preparation : Develop competitive bid proposals for public and private construction projects, ensuring estimates align with project scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Plan Analysis : Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents to identify scope, quantities, and potential challenges or risks.
- Material Takeoffs : Perform material takeoffs and quantify requirements to ensure accurate pricing and resource allocation.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination : Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
- Cost Analysis : Analyze historical data, industry trends, and project-specific variables to refine estimates and provide value-engineering recommendations to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify project details, address discrepancies, and ensure estimates meet client expectations.
- Budget Support : Assist in developing project budgets and provide ongoing cost tracking during the planning and pre-construction phases.
- Documentation : Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and supporting data for reference and audit purposes.
- Risk Assessment : Identify potential cost overruns, delays, or unforeseen issues and propose mitigation strategies to ensure project profitability.
