Job Description:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee their financial strategy and operations across 10 brands and managing over $200 million in revenue. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial transparency, compliance, and strategic decision-making that supports our growth and innovation in the digital accessory and personal care sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process; develop and monitor budget forecasts to support strategic business decisions. Provide variance analysis and financial insights to the executive team.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, including tax strategies and audits.
- Cost Management: Analyze and control costs to improve profitability. Implement cost accounting systems to track and reduce manufacturing expenses, overheads, and other operational costs.
- Team Leadership: Direct and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary data for financial analysis.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in strategic planning by providing financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential investments, acquisitions, or new product lines.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for management and board meetings, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar financial leadership role, ideally within a manufacturing, CPG, retail, wholesale or tech company.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial compliance, and regulatory environments.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of mentoring and team development.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
