What a Blackeagle Natural Gas Distribution ~ Backhoe Operator (Denver Metro area) can expect to do:

- Use machines to dig and backfill trenches to lay or repair pipelines and hoist heavy construction materials.
- Operate equipment that clears and grades land for construction preparation.

Role's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Operate construction or power equipment, such as backhoe, mini excavator, dump truck, front-end loader, skid steer, etc.
- Work with and assist others in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a backhoe, front-end loader, skid steer, etc.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor, and clean equipment.
- Inventory materials and supply workers with materials as needed.
- Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
- Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Be a participatory crew member and assist as necessary to complete projects.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 4 years’ construction industry experience.
- 2 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with steel and poly pipe construction.
- Proficiency with mini excavator operation, ability to dig around live buried plastic and steel gas pipelines and other underground utilities without causing damage.
- Ability to effectively utilize a spotter to avoid damages.
- Experience with mini excavators, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers.
- CDL strongly preferred
- Technical aptitude & time management skills
- Customer/client centric & safety conscious
COMPENSATION RANGE
- $27 - $32 /hour DOE
- $500 hiring bonus offered!
The expected compensation range is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based on factors such as education, experience, and other qualifications.
